The aerodynamic behavior of particles in airflow is influenced by various factors, including moisture content and thermal effects. In seeds, moisture absorption, or imbibition, occurs due to pressure differences between the seed and water, affecting their physical and aerodynamic properties. This study examines the impact of thermal effects and moisture content on the aerodynamic properties of Pinus merkusii seeds using video tracker analysis. Three treatment conditions were applied: soaking, soaking followed by heating, and drying. The analysis focused on the relationship between moisture absorption and time, the effect of temperature on absorption capacity, and the correlation between moisture content and aerodynamic correction factors. The findings provide insights into how different treatments influence seed properties and aerodynamic behavior, which is critical for applications such as seed dispersal modeling and agricultural optimization. The use of video tracker analysis, an accessible open-source digital tool, offers a practical approach for hybrid learning, particularly in remote and underserved (3T) regions, where hands-on experimentation is often limited. This study demonstrates the potential of digital tracking technology as an effective learning aid in physics and agricultural sciences, supporting interactive and experimental learning in both online and hybrid education settings. © 2026 Author(s)
