Researchers currently focus their research on learning models, one of which is the guided-inquiry learning model. Several research results related to the guided inquiry learning model state that the model can improve students' cognitive abilities. This research focuses on a guided-inquiry learning model based on the SETS approach (Science, Environment, Technology, and Society) to improve critical thinking skills. This research is a quasi-experimental research with senior high school students as the samples were determined using the purposive sampling technique. The instrument used to collect the data was a description test. Based on the results of the t-test analysis at a significant level of 0.05, it was obtained that tobserved was higher than tcritical (5.4494>2.0017), which means that H0 was rejected. These results show that the guided inquiry model based on the SETS approach (Science, Environment, Technology, and Society) improves students' critical thinking skills. The learning process that integrated all stages of the guided-inquiry learning model with SETS is suitable for all critical thinking skills indicators. The stages of the model provided positive impacts on students' critical thinking skills. © 2023 Author(s).
