Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of parental involvement and child's selfregulation on child's tolerant behavior using quantitative method with multiple correlation technique. Multiple Regression Analysis is used to examine the effect of parental involvement and child's self-regulation on child's tolerant behavior. By using purposive sampling, this study assigned 149 children (aged 5-6 years old) and their parents domiciled in Jakarta. The results are (1) there is no significant effect of parental involvement on the child's tolerant behavior; (2) there is a significant effect of child's self-regulation on the child's tolerant behavior; and (3) parental involvement and child's self-regulation jointly affect child's tolerant behavior significantly. Therefore, the improvement of child's tolerant behavior can be achieved properly if there is a strong influence on child's self-regulation since early childhood. © 2023 Peter Lang Group AG, Lausanne.
