This action or experimental research aims to improve critical thinking skills and interior design in Interior Design study program students, in learning apartment interior design through the application of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model. This research is classroom action research. The research subjects are 2nd semester students of Interior Design study program. Collecting data using the observation method with a checklist instrument and creativity test. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively. The results of the study show as follows: (a) the application of the PBL model in apartment interior design learning can improve students' critical thinking skills in learning by 32%, (b) students' critical thinking skills after the application of PBL, namely students with very high critical thinking skills category as much as 24 students (69%), high category as many as 9 students (23%), low category as many as 2 students (8%) and very low category as many as 0 students (0%), (c) the application of PBL can improve student learning outcomes are 31.03%, and (d) student learning outcomes after the application of PBL, namely the number of students who get very satisfactory grades increases by 20%. This research is recommended for lecturers, educators and stakeholders of interior design study programs to develop the most optimal learning strategies that can be applied. © 2023 American Institute of Physics Inc..
