Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is a disease caused by the dengue virus which is transmitted by the Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus mosquitoes. Until now, dengue is still a problem in Indonesia, especially for areas with high temperatures. One of the provinces with the highest average temperature is The Central Java. One of the efforts made in dealing with cases of DHF is to find out the factors that cause it. This study was conducted to model the number of DHF cases in The Central Java using Geographically Weighted Negative Binomial Regression (GWNBR) and to find out the factors causing DHF cases. The GWNBR model was chosen because the data used in this study is count data that indicates overdispersion and has spatial aspects, namely spatial dependencies and heterogeneity. In GWNBR modeling, a weighting function is needed so that the resulting model is different for each observation. The weighting function used in this study is the fixed Gaussian Kernel. The results of the study with a significance level of 5% indicate that the number of protected spring facilities has a significant effect in every district/city in The Central Java. Meanwhile, the percentage of households that have access to safe drinking water, the percentage of households with clean and healthy lifestyle, the percentage of healthy houses, the number of village maternity hut, and the percentage of households that have access to proper sanitation have a significant effect on most districts/cities. In general, the GWNBR model is better for modeling the data on the number of dengue cases than Poisson regression and negative binomial regression. © 2023 American Institute of Physics Inc..
