The contextual Teaching and Learning approach is increasingly popular in science learning. It is one of the strategies used to improve students' understanding of science and the environment at the elementary, secondary, and university levels of education. This approach is used to connect real-world situations with science so that students can understand and solve problems. This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of the Contextual Teaching and Learning approach in learning physics. This research collected articles from the SINTA (Science and Technology Index) database, Scopus, and DOAJ (Directory of Open-Access Journals). Eighty-eight articles were found and then analyzed in five stages, namely (1) Orientation, (2) Conceptualization, (3) Investigation, (4) Discussion, and (5) Conclusion. Fourteen articles were obtained after conducting the analysis stage. The results showed that the Contextual Teaching and Learning approach could be effectively used in physics learning and each researched dependent variable. However, research on Contextual Teaching and Learning approaches has not been widely conducted in physics learning at the elementary, secondary, and university levels. © 2023 Author(s).
