Abstract

Science literacy is a 21st century life skill. The development of science and technology requires students to have critical thinking skills, be creative, be able to make decisions and solve problems. The purpose of this study is to determine the influence of Lake Tondano Environmental Assisted Inquiry (PIBL) learning to Improve Science Literacy of Elementary School Students. This research is a quantitative research. The method used in this study is a quasi-experimental method. The research design is one way ANOVA. In its implementation, it is divided into two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class. The target population in this study is all Class V elementary school students in Eris District. The sampling technique was carried out by purposive sampling with a sample of 60 students. The experimental class had a sample of 30 students who were treated with learning through the environment around Lake Tondano based on inquiry. Furthermore, the control class also had a sample of 30 students who received conventional learning treatment. The instrument used is in the form of multiple choice of 20 items that have been tested for validity and reliability. Furthermore, the data analysis techniques that will be used in this study are descriptive analysis, and statistical hypothesis testing. Through PIBL, students are encouraged to think critically when students interact directly with the environment. © 2026 Author(s).
