Abstract

This study aims to examine the positive and significant effects of Job Involvement, Job Satisfaction, and SelfEfficacy on Organizational Commitment in special school teachers in Banten Province, with Altruistic Behavior as a mediator variable. Through a quantitative survey of the sample of this study consisted of teachers from two types of special schools in Banten Province with a total sample of 382 special school teachers. To determine the sample size of Teachers needed in this study, it is done through: (a) representation of the population, (b) sample requirements as a form of complementing Structural Equatin Modeling (SEM). In this study, the sample to be used used the formula from Slovin. This sample selection aims to obtain a comprehensive picture of the factors that influence teacher commitment in different special education contexts. The selection of respondents in this study was permanent teachers, having taught for at least 5 years. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed directly to all teachers who met the criteria. This study tests the hypothesis that job involvement, job satisfaction and self-efficacy have a positive and significant influence on organizational commitment, through altruistic behavior. The results of the SEM analysis show that there is a significant difference in the level of organizational commitment between teachers in public special schools and teachers in private special schools. This finding provides an empirical contribution to the literature related to factors that influence organizational commitment in the context of special education. The practical implication of this study is that the strength of self-efficacy and Altruistic Behavior aspects can increase teachers' work commitment in carrying out their duties in special schools. © 2026, SRAC-Romanian Society for Quality.
