This study systematically examines technology integration in elementary mathematics education, emphasizing its optimal utilization based on teachers' competencies and available digital resources. Employing an integrative literature review, the research synthesizes empirical studies on digital competencies and their role in 21st-century mathematics instruction. A key research gap identified is the lack of a comprehensive framework connecting technological tools, pedagogical strategies, and teacher preparedness. The findings highlight three major trends: (1) technology-enhanced mathematics instruction significantly improves students' conceptual understanding, engagement, and motivation; (2) gamification and digital media, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, have fostered immersive learning experiences and heightened student interest; and (3) adaptive learning technologies support personalized instruction tailored to individual learning needs. However, challenges persist, including disparities in technological access, variations in teacher digital literacy, insufficient professional development programs, and contextual differences in implementation. To overcome these obstacles, this study advocates for structured teacher training initiatives, equitable access to digital learning resources, and longitudinal research to evaluate the sustained impact of technology-driven mathematics education. This study advances a more inclusive and sustainable approach to technology integration in mathematics learning by addressing these gaps, aligning with global educational innovation efforts. © 2026 Author(s)
