Abstract

The existence of two problems, namely energy needs that are gradually increasing and environmental problems related to these needs, requires researchers to find the right answer to ensure sustainable energy that is safe and is expected to have the least environmental impact. This study discusses heat energy storage by adsorption, a technology that needs to be further developed to overcome these two problems. This study aimed to evaluate the temperature and pressure characteristics of a fin-tube type adsorber in adsorption heat energy storage using natural zeolite - water and adsorbate as a pair of adsorbents. The methodology used experiments with adsorption test equipment with the same evaporation value and adsorption temperature, namely 30°C and 50°C. This variant uses a fin-tube type adsorber with fin pitches of 3 mm. The results show that a smaller temperature value will get a lifting temperature higher. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
