Abstract

The main aim of this research is to explore coopetition in an internal organizational context that is still relatively little studied. coopetition is usually in the context of competition and cooperation between companies. The context that triggers this research is that competing and collaborating clearly requires capital of self-confidence, but marketers from the millennial generation (gen Y and Z) have the characteristic of being happy to change jobs, so coopetition and self-confidence need to be analyzed in relation to goal commitment. The survey method uses a questionnaire with the scaling technique used is a 5 points Likert scale. The population of this study were marketers at 42 vehicle financing companies in the East Jakarta and Bekasi areas, and using convenience sampling technique to obtain a sample of 168 respondents. All respondents were male. The age group of respondents can be divided into generation Y or millennial generation (born in 1981 and 1995) with 28 respondents (10.7%); and generation Z or Post-millennial generation (born in 1996 and 2012) as many as 150 respondents (89.3%). Hypothesis testing was carried out using PLS-SEM with high order construct analysis or hierarchical component models using the two-stage approach; analysis first order and second-order construct. The research results show that self-confidence significantly influences coopetition, and both (self-confidence and coopetition) significantly influence goal commitment. This research provides an overview of the causal relationship between the variables self-confidence, coopetition and goal commitment within the framework of the input output process so that it can enrich the study of coopetition in the internal organizational context, especially in finance companies. Theoretically, it is hoped that this research can contribute to the Company increasing the Goal Commitment of its marketers by increasing their self-confidence and cooperative attitude. © 2025, SRAC - Romanian Society for Quality.
