The study aims to determine the recovery effectiveness of a protein fiber (CV-f) cooler vest during high-intensity activities. This one-group study design involved 30 student-athletes of Pencak Silat (20, 133+ 0.973 years) from PPLM (Pusat Pendidikan dan Latihan Mahasiwa) Jakarta, Indonesia, which translates into Student Education and Training Centre, as participants. The participants perform a 1,600 m long-distance running activity with CV-f in which their skin surface temperature and maximum heart rate are measured before and after the activity. Lactic acid is measured with an Accutrend, and lactate analyser taken from the fingertips as much as 25-50 μ. Skin surface temperature is recorded using a digital infrared thermometer, and the heart rate is monitored with the Polar Team H-7 heart rate monitor. The results of processing and data analysis concluded that the cooling vest with protein-based fiber (CV-f) was proven effective in maintaining lactic acid levels before and after activity (3.753 + 1.011 mMol / l; 17.83 + 3.109 mMol / l) and (3.584 + 0.868 mMol) / l; 19,397 + 3,040 mMol / l), skin surface temperature (36.72 + 0.426: 35,807 + 0.6142) and (36.59 + 0.236oC; 35.94 + 0.528oC), and maximum heart rate (127.2 + 16.94 / bpm; 189.7 + 3,769 / bpm), (119.47 + 12,221 / bpm; 187.93 + 3,005 / bpm). In conclusion, the cooling vest sewn with fiber wool does not affect the participants' skin surface temperature even though it still provides comfort even when doing high-intensity activities of 1,600m long-distance running. © 2021 Taylor's University.
