Scientific literacy is essential for students in navigating the challenges of the Industrial Revolution 4.0, as it fosters critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and problem-solving skills. This study examines the development and implementation of science literacy-based digital media for high school physics education, specifically focusing on light waves. Utilizing the Research and Development (R&D) approach with the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate), this study evaluates the effectiveness of Wizer.me, an interactive web-based learning platform, in enhancing students' science literacy. Media suitability was assessed using the Learning Object Review Instrument (LORI) with input from media experts and subject teachers. A study involving 60 students measured science literacy improvement through the N-gain test, while user experience was evaluated using the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ). Findings indicate that integrating science literacy features such as visual illustrations, animations, and interactive content significantly enhances students’ ability to interpret data, design investigations, and comprehend scientific concepts. This research underscores the potential of digital-based media as an innovative tool to support science literacy development in the digital era. © 2026 Author(s)
