Any natural ecological entity such as water, air, leaves, and trees has provided a tremendous intensity of organisms. Soil and marine environments are the most preferred sources for organisms because they are a vast reservoir of diverse habitats that can produce bioactive microbial metabolites or "bio-mining". Nutritional resources are a focal point of microbial competition, and there is a relationship between limiting nutrients and microbial growth, development, and diversity. Microbial Diversity is the variety of different types of life found on earth. It is a measure of the variety of organisms present in different ecosystems. Biodiversity can refer to an ecosystem variation, genetic variation, or species variation within an area, biome, or planet. There is a continual change in species diversity through time, and metabolic diversity vary with environmental factors such as nutrient, temperature, ammonium and CO2 concentrations. Improvement of the industrial strains can be put down by manipulation of the existing genetic material or introducing new genetic properties into the microorganisms by recombinant DNA technology or genetic engineering. © 2017 Walter de Gruyter GmbH, Berlin/Boston.
