Abstract

This study presents the development of a reflected array (reflectarray) antenna for C-band application by integrating a Split Ring Resonator (SRR) structure with a modified U-patch. The design aims to achieve performance comparable to conventional parabolic reflectors commonly used in communication systems. The antenna employs a substrate material with a dielectric constant (ϵr) of 2.2 and a thickness of 1.6 mm. The results demonstrate a significant improvement in gain performance due to the incorporation of SRR and U-patch modifications. Furthermore, the implementation of an 8 × 8 array to validate the reflector concept shows a total gain enhancement (including the feed horn) of up to 33.47 dB, along with an ultra-wide bandwidth exceeding 2 GHz. These findings confirm that the proposed enhancements effectively optimize gain compared to conventional reflector antenna designs.
