Abstract

High-quality empirical studies on the development of ecological intentions among Indonesian university students are lacking. To address this, we conducted a bibliometric analysis of 150 peer-reviewed papers from Scopus and Web of Science (2013-2025) using R Bibliometric software. Our findings indicate that environmental knowledge, social norms, perceived behavioral control, cost, and institutional policies are key factors influencing students' pro-environmental behavior. The analysis also revealed a growing focus on the link between eco-friendly actions and improved psychological well-being, such as reduced anxiety and higher life satisfaction. Contributions were mainly from institutions in North America, Europe, and Asia, highlighting multidisciplinary collaboration in environmental psychology and education. However, the study's limitations include inadequate analysis of cultural impacts and long-term health outcomes. Our research provides an overview of the research landscape and identifies future avenues for investigation, offering practical insights for policymakers and educators to promote pro-environmental behavior and enhance student well-being. © 2025 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
