Fire is an undesirable condition for the emergence of fire, when the fire grows and cannot be extinguished, the fire can produce products that are dangerous to humans. To increase fire safety, it can be done by measuring ASET (Available Safe Egress Time) and RSET (Required Safe Egress Time) using software simulation. This research aims to improve ASET and RSET times based on software simulations in the building with parameters in the form of fuel conditions of 470 Kw/m2. The fire product parameters measured are CO gas concentration, temperature, and visibility. Maximum evacuation time is 900 seconds and the evacuation route is free from obstacles. From the simulation results, the tenability of the building used as an object was met in more than 900 seconds, the total evacuation time for all building occupants was 237 seconds. From the conditions above, increasing safety for fire hazards from the simulation comparison between ASET and RSET can be done by optimizing the evacuation time so that it is much smaller than the tenability time of the building. By increasing the width of the emergency door the evacuation time is 231 seconds, while by enlarging the emergency stairs the evacuation time is 190 seconds, while by dividing the occupancy distribution evenly the evacuation time is 230 seconds, while by increasing the occupancy speed, the evacuation time is 181 seconds. © 2025 Institute of Physics Publishing.
