This study examines the effects of alkalization and variations in polyester-fiber volume fraction on the thermal conductivity of composite materials. Polyester fibers were treated with an alkaline solution and incorporated into a polymer matrix at different volume fractions. Thermal conductivity measurements revealed a significant reduction with increasing fiber volume fraction, particularly in alkalized fibers. This reduction is attributed to enhanced interfacial bonding and decreased void content from the alkalization process. These findings suggest that optimizing fiber treatment and volume fraction can improve the thermal insulation properties of polyester-fiber composites, making them suitable for thermal management applications. © 2025 Author(s).
