Batu Merah Village, located in Sirimau District, Ambon City, frequently experiences flood disasters due to high rainfall and vulnerable topography. This study aims to identify and analyze the adaptation strategies employed by the Batu Merah Village community in facing flood disasters. The research methodology used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques including in-depth interviews, observation, and document analysis. This study will examine various adaptation strategies encompassing both structural and non-structural aspects. Structural aspects include physical constructions such as levees and drainage systems, while non-structural aspects involve enhancing community capacity, disaster education, and community organization involvement. The study will also identify factors influencing the effectiveness of these adaptation strategies and the challenges faced by the community. The expected outcome of this research is a deeper understanding of how the Batu Merah Village community adapts to flood disasters and recommendations to enhance their resilience to future disasters. 2025 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
